Owen Brothers, Mirage

$795.00

Owen Brothers, Mirage ca. 1930s-1950s

Based off of Thayer’s New Vanishing Glass of Water No. 516. A glass of water on a small table is covered with three tubes. The tubes are removed one at a time from the stand revealing that the glass has vanished. Suspecting that the water is hidden under the draped stand, the magician removes the drape, too.

This effect was made by Loyd., Thayer and Owen.  Includes the original instructions plus a copy of the Thayer Instructions (same effect but slightly different handling). Scarce. Excellent Condition.

Historical Note:

This is a rare item, likely crafted by Carl and Emmett Owen at some point between 1933-1963. According to experts on Owen Magic Supreme’s history, it wasn’t produced after Les Smith acquired the company in 1963, nor does it appear in any catalogs issued by Smith or his son, Alan Zagorsky.
